Drivers for older HP Printers
I have installed samba and can see my network printer but I have no idea where I can get an appropriate driver for PC (win9*). At least some SPARCprinters did Postscript and plain text. If yours does, try using drivers for old Postscript printers.

I even tried to DL the original drivers using compatability for Win 95, 98, NT 4.0, and XP. No dice. I also tried uninstalling the printer, rebooting, running the driver/utility installation, rebooting, then plugging in the HP. Attn Win XP Programmers - Virtual Printer Driver Needed
Every time I plug the cord in from the printer it prompts me to install the drivers...so for some reason it doesn't think they are there. is a driver you're trying to install then you are being notified that the driver you are trying to install is already installed or you’re trying to install an older driver.

Basically, it has twice the dot resolution (2880 vs 1440) as the older Epson 870 printer. The printer is new enough that not alot has been written about it but everyone is selling it for $100 or less so how wrong can you go? perhaps it uses the same driver as one of the older models and therefore had OS/2 drivers

These guys want to continue to use their old Dot Matrix printers. I will be trashing their 386 PC's and connecting these 24 pin printers to the new Pentiums with my application. Nobody can find any drivers on floppy or anything so what can I do? Danny Doherty.

The printer drivers provided are strictly those for older DOS & Win 16-bit versions of WP, and there haven't been any updates in years. If you are, in fact, running WP7 or WP8, you are looking for *Windows* printer drivers, and would get them for older printers from MS, and for newer printers from the manufacturer.
